Park Ranger Station in Winter - Very first animation in Octane.

Hello, this is my very first animation attempt in Octane.

Made with Blender 2.59, Rendered in Octane. Camera animated in Octane with OPT (Octane Power Tools).

I know it is way to fast, but it is a first trial.

Looks pretty impressive but maybe you could add some motion to the trees and a wider lens angle. Especially in the beginning it looks like a model landscape.

Currently, the Camera lens focal length is set to 24mm at the beginning and changes progressively to 35mm when getting closer to the house.

As the central part of the landscape is separated from the mountains background, I can’t use easily a wider camera angle without showing that there is like an island floating in the sky over the large mountains ! I would rather put the camera closer to the model at its starting point , to be already inside the landscape.

I will animate the smoke of the chimney and the flag and other small things in post production or compositing, but I can’t animate the trees, because it would require to export the whole scene in obj format and import it in Octane for each frame : 15min +15 min=30minutes, when the rendering time per frame in octane 30 seconds only ! More than 30 minutes per frame would require more than 31 days of rendering for one minute of animation (at 25fps, 1500 frames=750 hours) !

Using Octane Power Tools allows to animate the camera without reloading the whole scene for each frame, but only the camera !

But I will study the possibility of rendering separately some trees and animate them in 2D by morphing and compositing them back into the whole scene.
