Hello everyone! This a piece I’m working on. I plan for it to be the setting for an animation I want to do. I’m going for realism. After rendering it out I several issues myself, but I’d like to see what all of you think and what I can do to improve it. Suzanne is just there for perspective. Thank you
It’s a good scene, here are my ideas if you’re going for realism:
It’s quite dark. I would expect the parts that are in direct sunlight to be brighter and less saturated (see photos below), also the bench is a bit difficult to make out for the main focus of the scene.
The grass (particularly noticable in the foreground) is quite uniform and streight with little variation.
I think the path would benefit from some extra geometry. Maybe some leaves/ twigs to make it more interesting
Apart from those things I think it would be a good scene for an animation

I agree that the grass is pretty straight and uniform. Here some grass that I scanned one time, so you (or anyone else) feel free to use this as a reference and/or texture.
I modeled the grass using low poly cylinders and extruded from it. The reference picture lined up with the model so I UV unwrapped it (project from view) and used the grass as the texture too and it looked really nice. Then I just set up a particle system to put it on the lawn.
