Particle Animation

I have a cannon, and I’d like it to fire a blast. I set up the emitter and all the particle stats as I’d like them to be, and yet for some reason the particle animation isn’t working. Can anyone please take a look at it and tell me why it won’t animate? Thanks. :]

First of all one thing I notice in x,y,z force button of the emitter is set incorrectly, try setting your y=1.0, x=0 & z=about 20 just to align your particles coming out from the cannon.Then increase the setting of keys button (beside bspline button). Tweak the speed, (try incresing it) and lower the damping value.; also try to lower the gap between start and end values of animation.And then later you may assign material in the IPO curve for the blast effect…I hope this help you…
