Particle baking

Hi,
how can I pake particles from a specific frame to another specific frame?
The manual states that you can set the time frame in the bake panel but there is no place in the bake panel where I can set frames. Or at least not in the one I am looking. Is there another bake panel somewhere?

Here is what my bake panel looks like:

Furthermore, is it possible to bake a particle system to a specific frame, then interrupt the bake and then restart the bake later on? For example if you have a large system and want to bake over nights but need your computer during the day this would be very useful.

And on the page with that statement it has screenshots showing you that the start/end values are for dynamic hair particles and what you see is correct for emitter particles

Ok, I was reading the new manual (2.7 ?) where this image is not present.

So, is it impossible to stop a bake and then continue at another time? Or can this be done in some other way?
