I’m trying to get decent particle grass. It have to render fast enough to use this in animation.
Here is my try:
Render time in 640x360x5AA is about 7 minutes on my Barton 3200. Pretty good, but still need some work.
Now I have to work on wind and collision detections with moving objects. Just have to add some guides and setup this
This is the best grass I’ve seen yet! Lots of natural variation.
How do you plan to do the collision detection? I didn’t think Blender 2.41 did deflection with static particles.
as far as “the best looking grass”, I have my doubt. This looks very good, but it depends on the style you want. It looks kinda cartoonish at the moment because some section are oversaturated (imho).
Althought, it’s looking really nice, so depending on what style you are working with, it might work perfectly!
Really great grass. I’m agree for a bit oversaturation of green, but it’s ok if it’s for a more cartoon movie.
Becarrefull if you use wind of your statique cloud background.
I made test with my grass and wind and sphere deformation. It’s work well, but very hard to configure a mouvement for the wind strange to have a elastic look like grass.
If you make a tutorial on how to obtain a " real looking grass in the wind " I would be curious to see your ZSize curve Ipo of the wind object.
I love the grass, about being overly green, grass can be that green if it was say, after a good rain but you mainly see that in yards, i’d say add a small hint of yellow to make the color more realistic.
