I wonder how such wonderful looking grass managed to grow out of such dull patches of soil? (from what I can see between the grass strands)
Awesome job on the animation! I would love to see a tutorial!
Waooo ! you find it ! your wind tremble sofltly and your grass have a great great movement. I’m still curious to know how many wind deflector you use and to see the Ipo of them.
Good luck on finishing your project.

This isn’t part of bigger project. Just a test.
But, I’m making something bigger, much bigger
Unfortunately I don’t have time to write tutorial, but here is .blend file with this grass:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KIDEHI8J
Hope you enjoy it
Great, they sky looks too dark. Using shadeless may fix it.
grzybu: would you consiter uploading it to another site? im behind a NAT server along with a few thousand ppl - theres noway i’ll ever get to download from megauploads
looks great! the .blend helps a lot.
Really great grass, good job sir. As for the scene, The skybox is a little dark, don’t you think?
I will host the file at
http://www.cibiv.univie.ac.at/~greg/grass_tutorial.blend.zip
For a short time only

Here is mine… Would be nice as a front lawn… Not exactly ‘farm grass’ or grass you’d find in the mountains… Im curious though, how could i make this better?
my lighting isnt perfect i know… its using one hemni(slightly light bluish) and one spot(light orange but .4 energy)… Im still a noob but its not horrible.
if you want the .blend lemme know
I made this a little while ago to look like nice lawn:

And this, a little softer:

I think it looks pretty good.
nice
… the brightness varience on the soft grass might be a bit too much though. Makes it look a bit more like fur…
i think this topic should be sort of like the ‘post your realistic explosion’ topic, but a ‘post your realistic grass’ topic… If you got good grass, post it here!
im making this my default topic for grass discussion…
Hi grzybu, and all the other on the thread.
Thanks many a lot for your blend file, now I think that’s the curve field path solution is the best and it was great idea from you to use it.
Good work,
( launching here a general grass thread looks good )
