I know that there is no Particle system in BGE, but I really need some implemented into my game. Am I able to just switch to Blender Internal Render and create the particles and the switch back to the game engine and go from there? Because I can’t use BIR for physics Is there an add-on or something that will enable them into BGE? and is the blender foundation planning to make them into BGE any time soon? thanks.
I think the problem is more of a OpenGL and GLSL problem. If you want your particle system to be fast it needs to run 100% on the GPU and not on the CPU.
BGE particles are custom made. Look at the resource forum. There you can find some solutions. Some of them include nice configuration options.
I do not think there are any plans.
