so i have a particle system behind a transparent object and when i render it, the particles do not appear at all how do i get the particles to show up??? plz help!
In your material for the transparent object click ‘ZTransp’.
but tht just simply makes the object completely transparent, the object has some amount of distortion that i want
Blender can’t use particles when calculating raytrace lighting due to the way halos are drawn. What you can do is render the particles by themselves and map the resulting image to a plane. Then replace the particles with the plane. This method will preserve your distortion, but you’ll only have a flat surface.
But if you don’t need the distortion you can move the particles to a different render layer and composite them back in using nodes.
