Particles don't follow at high speed

Hello,

As you can see with the .blend, if the speed of the emitter is too high, particles don’t follow as expected. I don’t see a setting to increase substeps for calculation. I tried in Physics, Integration : timestep and subframes but nothing changed.

If you move the keyframe which is at 34 to 80 for example, so the emitter goes slower, it works. Is it possible to acheive the same result at high speed or is it a limitation please ?

Using a Follow Path constraint works whatever the speed but I don’t have the deformation.

Hi, try tweaking between: object velocity,Randomize, Drag, and damp setting until you get the desired effect.

Thanks. I tried but I can’t have the exact same result. And why with the same settings, it works with Follow Path constraint ?

I don’t know, but here is my file:
Particles_speed1.blend (2.6 MB)

Ok thanks, I see. The Randomize hides the fact that it makes “group” of particles, and the Damp and a bit less the Drag keep the particles near the curve.

If someone knows why it works well with Follow Path constraint, I take the info  ?

Also your keyframe interpolation was set to Bezier it needs to be linear.

Yes, it’s better.

To be fully accurate about the solution. It’s better but it’s not the solution. I let you another .blend where you can see a comparison betwen behaviour with the Follow Path constraint and the Curve one.

It’s perfect whether it’s Linear or Bezier interpolation with my initial settings at the same speed.
