particles in 2.56b

Hello,

I would like to add smoke trail for the rocket, wingtip vortices, boundary layer (condensation during high G turn) over wings, afterburtner and other particle effects for a scene. What I need is an easy and adjustable way of doing it. Also, since I am making a stereo 3D image, it is important that the scene is static so to say, so I could render exactly the same stuff from 2 views. From Where would you suggest to start off?
