Perfictly placeing bones?

At the moment all the tutorials that I have seen have you creating the bone and then moving it into place.

Is there a plugin that will auto place the bone based on what verts you have selected?

Select the vertex, Shftl+A / cursor to selected
Any added object will be located at the 3d cursor.

That is half of it, but only one end of the bone will be centered. What would you do for the other end?

Again, select the vertices where you want the tip of the bone goes to, then Shift+S cursor to selected, now in Edit Bone mode select the Tip Ball of the bone and do ‘Selection to Cursor’.


Snapping to volume in center/median mode gets it close enough.
