Sounds like a Blender bug indeed. You could bake the rigid body animation to keyframes, once you’re happy with the animation.
I know
I applied the transform of the RB at the place I liked but never removed the RB modifier
I’m not gonna animate, just had to do the sim to get stuff to stack realistically
Thank you so much for your quick responses!

Some artists seem to have missed that you can make awesome bokeh and optical vignetting using textures with Photographer 4, so I did a couple of renders.
Also, I’m officially announcing that Photographer 4 will keep getting new updates and features during 2022 for free. There won’t be a new paid upgrade this year.
Woohoo, that’s awesome !
Thank you very much.
You might want to use this tiny addon I made. I reverse engineered (ehm… actually it was trials & errors) the math behind lens shifting, yay!
@chafouin
You could add this feature to your addon if you didn’t already. It is a pretty commonly requested feature for those working in achiviz. That other big 3d software “max” has a dedicated camera modifier for this.
Lens Shift and Automatic Tilt has been in Photographer for a while. Do you have a short video of what your add-on does exactly?
This is what the operator does in a picture: automatically sets camera rotation and Y shift to have vertical straight lines.
So yes it’s Photographer’s Automatic Shift feature
Hello ! Thank you for your addon !
why physical light intensity animation is not rendered in batch or render-farm mode ?
Why this message in the output log when batch rendering ?
Traceback (most recent call last):
File “C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\3.0\scripts\addons\photographer\handler.py”, line 11, in update_render_camera

That’s new to me, thank you for taking the time to report the error. I managed to reproduce the background render issue and will look into it.
However, render-farm mode (Export Render files, then run the .bat file) does work with animated lights for me. Can you please provide a test scene for this case?
Thx for your response
here is the scene https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/ab81b135-d0fd-4037-b8c5-58fbfe38ddfe
I’v used this cmd to render:
“C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 3.0\blender.exe” -b D:\Desktop\Blender\TestAnimLights\AnimLights.blend -s 1 -e 25 -a
I use Deadline renderfarm witch run tasks with ‘-a’ parameter
The only way I found to resolve this is to active “Keep showing Blender Light panels” and to keeframe the power of Light panel rather than the power of Physical Light panel.
Sorry for my approximate English
Thank you for the scene.
As mentioned above, as a workaround, you can also use the Export Render files and render the exported .blend, this will save you time as you won’t have to key the light properties again manually.
EDIT: I found the issue, which I find ridiculous as it shows how adding a completely unrelated feature can break everything: addons that register keymaps will fail loading in headless blender.
Trying to find a work around and will submit a fix today.
Great ! THX !!
No more problems with the 4.5.5 version !
THX ! MERCI
Thank your for the confirmation!
Version 4.5.5 is available:
- Fix Background Render error that would break animated properties.
- Fix rare Collection error when adding Camera Targets and AF Tracker.
Photographer will error with Blender 3.1 when using Resolution overrides and the render queue.
If you encounter this and it’s blocking you, please reach out to me to get a fixed version. I’ll be waiting a bit longer to release an update for Blender 3.1 to make sure we catch as many new errors as possible.
Me too, I’d love a fixed version if possible!
Is it possible to generate shadows from HDRI “lights” with the Photographer addon in eevee?
lights like this addon:
this addon does not generate shadows in eevee and I would like to know if this is possible with photographer ?
if it is not possible , do you know another way or addon that generates shadows of these HDRI lights in eevee ?
thanks
No Photographer won’t help with that.
You will have to wait for EEVEE’s raytraced GI or you can try one of the SSGI builds in the meantime, but it will only work if the emissive surfaces are visible on screen.
Boy I sell my lightpacks too cheap. 30 bucks for 20 HDR textures… Why do I bother modeling the lamps?
