Yes I understand the issue, what settings are you using for Color Management? sRGB Standard or Filmic?
Highlight compression is an option that was added in outdated parametric tonemappers, nowadays we have tonemapper options that have a better understanding of image formation
Highlight compression could easily be added, I’m just pointing out that this is probably not the right way to fix it.
