Physarum Dystopia

Clay Render

The centerpiece is a fully procedural Physarum (slime mold) transport network simulation built entirely in Blender Geometry Nodes using simulation zones.
Technical Implementation:
Agent-Based Simulation: Driven by a continuous mathematical feedback loop of 10,000 digital agents interacting with a 2D grid canvas.
Chemotaxis & Vector Sensors: Agents deposit scent values, dynamically steering toward local maxima using a three-pronged vector sensor array.
Diffusion & Decay: The underlying grid actively diffuses and decays trails over time, while toroidal boundary wrapping traps the agents into self-organizing organic highways.
Data-Driven Shading: Bypassed point-cloud rendering by passing the grid’s chemical density attributes straight into the Shader Editor, turning raw data into an emissive map on a hard-surface frame.
