I noticed, that when I started looking at Fluid Sim today (never done physics before), it calculates the fluid sim mesh on the CPU. Why is that? I’ve seen plenty of youtube videos with people showing off real time fluid sims on GPUs. Now I am no expert and they might use soemthing altogether different for algorithms … but is this planned on Blender at some point? It’s kind of sad to see the i7 nearly dieing, while the GPUs just sit next to it and giggle
Use Real Flow or Naid.
Of course we’d like to have it. But that would require a proficient coder to step up and volunteer their time. Coding for the GPU isn’t exactly an every day skill, and those who have it usually put it to use making piles of money.
If you can shore up the funds, go for it!
have a look and read this about this :eyebrowlift:
looks great!! And a little bit like the blender 3D Viewport… time to dream ![]()
