Picking up the pieces...a 24 hour animation

This weekend was Savanijam, a 24 hour animation competition for students at my school, SCAD.

This year’s theme was Peace or any interpretation of the pronunciation of the word (peace, piece, peas, etc)

This was my entry, Picking Up The Pieces. I completed it in 24 hours using only Blender and After Effects. Everything was done within the 24 hours except for the rig which I created earlier this year. We were allowed to use pre-made rigs.

Let me know what you think!

That was actually very cool, presentation is great!

Hey, I’d just say : woaw. I really liked this short. The animation is well-timed, the story is … well told.
A very good job indeed.

Thanks for the feedback!

Feel free to post comments and criticisms, everyone!

nicely done …really liked it

i really liked it too.

really well done  to say that the animation was done in 24 hours its really good
did you have to storyboard in that time to?

5 star

Very well done. Excellent modelling and rigging.

Hey everyone! Just to keep you updated, I went to the awards ceremony tonight. My entry won best in show (the overall top award)!

Also, thanks for the positive response everyone!

@bacon_chaney: The theme was announced at the beginning of the 24 hours, so I had to storyboard within the 24 hours!

That was great, I really liked the flow and compositions.
The only problem that stood out was when Henry picked up the key. He’s unbalanced in that pose and looks like he should fall forward.

Wow, thats an amazing short, and just in 24 hours. Did you actually got any sleep?? :stuck_out_tongue:
