picture help

Hi, I was wondering. Is there any way to put an image of like the side of a car for example into blender then trace it? Like putting the side view of the car with side veiw, front view of the car with the front veiw, etc…

I believe you’re looking for something called “decals” and if you do a search for “decal textures” or something of that nature you’ll find some info. The other thing you might want to look into is UV mapping tutorials, and texture tutorials. I know it sounds like a lot of reading but hey…you’ll thank us for it later, and we’ll thank you immediately. Good luck

I think he’s talking about a background image.

Press Shift F7 over a 3D viewport, then click load. You can adjust the scaling in those buttons too. To return to the viewport, press Shift F5. Unfortunately it’s only one background image for all the views. There has been talk of making the top/front/side background images independent, but for now you can get around it using UV mapped planes.

k, thanks!
