i like your progress so far with pikachu. but the way he is drawn in the pics and the way you have his ears meshed with the forehead…

Now I make it subsurfed instead of high res. Adjust till I like it, add bones, and animate.

The overall mesh seems not bad, I suggest you scale
the tail down to make it thinner though.

How did you manage the lightning? Also is it animated?

The lightning isn’t animated but it could be with a displacement modifier or texture. The lightning is about four sets of two vertices that have been connected together and then massively subdivided and a halo material applied.
Only difference is I used a fractal subdivide for the first subdivision. On the second I turned down the randomness. All I did after that was some proportional falloff editing and some trimming of the chains so they weren’t all the same length.

Slight update and wire render. I’m working on make the hands better at the moment.
