Pimp My PC for Blender

Hi All,
Was wondering about something. I work on a new(ish) laptop and haven’t had any probs with it. My old desktop PC is lying dormant in my attic; is there anyway that I can use both of their processors in one system to speed up renders etc in blender? I remember hearing once about using combined graphics cards to manage a compiste display with one handling horizontal lines and on handling vertical lines resulting in super amazing graphics. Can a similar thing be done with processors? Or anything else I can use a spare PC for to increase performance?
Thanks for any thoughts/links to previous posts that I didn’t find
Rob

You can’t combine the processors in one pc. However, one can use distributed rendering. Distributed rendering is when one image is rendered using more than one pc. There is a python script for it - you’ll have to look for it.
