Soooo… Their are the other apps for 3d modeling and rendering. One as example is Maxwell. http://download.nextlimit.com/download.htm
See the list at the bottom of apps it will work with ? Why is blender not in there? Just look at blender as another app that just seems to not cost money. It should be in that list as another app.
A real effort should be made to get blender into the pipeline of other apps. Regardless of cost for other apps. If nothing else for the shear fact that blender can work with others nicely.

The Blender developpers didn’t do it (because none of them cared)
Integrating a Render is much harder job than integration with another modelling application. Integration with animation appliction is tricky too, but not impossible (see the Blender - Collada support).
Ah https://collada.org/public_forum/welcome.php collada I was wondering about that. It’s a good hope for the furture as long as The microsoft mentality does not have the big companies creating their own version of it.
I know it’s not easy. But it’s definitely a marketing idea to try and make blender sound more mainstream like the project for Mentalray conversion
