I want to invite you to sail with me through the adventurous Blender oceans, simulated with Flip Fluids.
After taking a lot of time and effort creating this ship, I wanted to achieve a nice way to have it sailing through the water and look properly. I was using Flip Fluids a lot in the past already and experimented with ways of creating ocean extensions for it.
Please have a look at the animation, including a little breakdown:
Excellent work on the ocean and the settings of Flip Fluid, but I especially appreciate the detail of the movement of the sails according to the apparent wind. Congratulation !
Really impressive! What is the reason for the light blue wake (as seen on the screenshot or at about 0:09 in the video)?
Foam generation getting out of hand somehow?
Thank you! That’s happening because I gave the wake a different material as I wanted it to be more volumetric and look prettier than the rest of the ocean surface.
