Pivot point and rotation

Hi, I have a question:

With 2.54, is it possible to rotate a mesh or even a face around an arbitrary axis defined by two vertices (landing gear doors in an aircraft, for instance)?

Thanks in advance,

Thierry

Place the blender cursor (the red and white ring), use ‘Shift+S’ for precise placement. Then look across a viewport titlebar and find one which mentions ‘pivot’, then change it to ‘3D Cursor’.

p.s. remember to change it back later…

Press T and N to show the properties and tool shelf
Select an edge you want to have as the axis of rotation. In the properties panel under the Transform Orientations settings press Create. In the Mesh Tools panel (T) at the bottom add the name of this new orientation. You can then select this at anytime from the properties panel or from the 3d view head instead of Global / Normal / Local etc.

Thanks a lot  !
