i am making a model of Saturn and i am having a hard time with the rings.
right now i one giant ring that covers all the rings of saturn.
but that’s not working very well.
this is what i have so far.
i want it to look more realistic like some of the ones i see when i search 3d saturn model on google.
any tips besides making a object for each ring division.
Hi, what you need to do is make the ring a particle emmitor, give the particles a very short start and end frame and make LOTS of them. for sure give them a random value. then give it a material set to ‘halo’, and make the halos very soft and very small. also give them a very low alpha value. then, on a seperate layer, make some rocks, make about 12 of them, then duplicate them all a few times, and run the randomize rotation / scale script on them. disperse these among the vaporous cloud / ring.
that makes a better ring effect thank you but it isint getting the layers of the ring right
you mean the different colors?
Maybe have a wood rings texture mapped to alpha?
i do mean the deferent colors.
