I’m seeing translucency on these – and plastic leaves have translucency. Where they look plasticy (rare IMHO) I don’t think translucency’s the problem.
It’s too low then. Plastic does not have transcluency when it’s painted.
You either need to pump up transcluency or add random walk subsurface.
