Play back animation while sculpting a mesh?

Just wondering if it is possible to play back the animation while sculpting a mesh. I want to do this so that I can sculpt stuff like chair legs in a realistic way (or make pots, or anything that is spun and shaped at the same time.

My currnet setup involves a spinning empty with a camera attached to it while I sculpt an object in the same place as the empty.

It’s not possible now, but may be in 2.50. There are vids around showing an animated mesh being changed in Edit mode, but I don’t know how this affects Sculpt mode.
