How do I extend the length Blender will play my animation when I hit alt+a? Right now it plays around 250 frames and then starts from the beginning rather than play my whole animation. Thanks for your help.

Go to the render buttons (F10) and change the value of “End” right below the ANIM and Render Daemon buttons.
