Playback Confusion

Before I start, I don’t really know how to label this forum, but this has to do with playback confusion (as written in the title), so sorry in advance.

So… here we go.

When I saw this:

I thought I could see the frames and the keyframes on other tabs of Blender, or even see the 3d viewport on a video sequencer.

But then I checked all of those options, and I try to see the keyframes and probably the viewport on any other window…it doesn’t work.

Could anyone please elaborate on it, or am I missing something?

And once again, sorry in advance if this comment doesn’t have the accurate forum.

First: the shown option are for the synchronisation options: (play every frame , frame dropping, sync to audio) and not for displaying anything (expect subframes).

To show the info about the frame in a 3D Viewport… this is enable by Overlays → Text info… In the animation workspace this is enabled for only one of the 3D viewports… so you also see this in all other workspaces (even for example in UV Editing).

And especially the keyframes are only shown for the selected object and also only in the timeline, dope sheet and action editor… (doesn’t really makes sense to show in the 3D viewport… when at least a timeline will be open when animating ??)
