For the life of me, I could not find this info background color (light gray behind the yellow type) in color theme preference. It is driving me nuts. lol. Thanks in advance.

I couldn’t find it either, apparently there is no option for it in User Preferences. I believe it uses some kind of internal colour buried somewhere deep in source code of Blender (or some generic one).
By the way if you have any other theming-related questions I’d be glad to answer them (not that I’m expert in that field, but I’ve made a few themes already).
