I am struggling to get decent results in unwrapping my lil object here, i figured it wouldn’t be too hard as its a glorified cube with some extra geometry but for some reason no matter where i put the seams i cant get the result i am looking for and i am struggling to see where i am going wrong … the blend file is attached, please can someone explain to me what it is that i am doing wrong … all i want is for the object to be unwrapped properly ?
Hey man, thanks for the link, checked the tutorial out already. Thing is i know how to mark seams and unwrap but my issue with the current object is where to place the seams to get a decent unwrap …
Ok after about 3 days of bashing head against keyboard to continue i finally figured out what the problem was. It wasn’t the placement of my seams that was causing the issue, it was the fact that i had not applied the scale to my object that i was getting such strange unwrapping results. I didn’t realize that this had such an effect on the uv unwrapping…
