Please help. Urgent.

My company just got us some new HP zbook laptops and I can’t get Blender to even launch (it tries to launch and then quits before the program comes up). Here are all the specs I know at the moment:

HP ZBook
Windows 7 Enterprise
Core i7 processor
16GB RAM
Graphics card: Integrated Intel HD 4600

I think the graphics card is the problem but I have no other options.

Is there any way to get Blender to work with with this setup?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try using an earlier version of blender, maybe 2.69

I’ll try that and get back to you tomorrow with the results. Is there something about 2.7x that refuses to work with that system?

I don’t know, but I saw on the internet that some one had clocked a render test with that computer using 2.69

Hi Blender work fine with the Intel HD 4000, may you look in to http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?363369-Blender-2-73-crashing-at-startup
These guys have the same problem.

Cheers, mib

I got it to launch from your suggestions here: http://www.blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?363369-Blender-2-73-crashing-at-startup&p=2823908&viewfull=1#post2823908

But it’s like working through mud.

UPDATE: As I was saying in the other post… the IT guy here discovered that there is a Quadro inside these things and for some reason the drivers for the onboard Intel card were being used instead! Geez, what a difference.
