I am a part time web designer as some may know. I had a client who had a webpage with angelfire paid service. When they transfered the account to bluehost, lycos kept the domain, and now they are furious at me. I don’t know why they are mad at me, but they are. I NEED that domain name, but it will expire in Februrary…Any suggestions?

Thing is, if yoy go with the big guys, they give you host offers with the domain incl., propably your case.-a lost case if this is the case.
Seems like lycos still owns the domain, because they are at your clients adress. Forget the domain, Im affraid.
Give it a last shot:
Check the contract you made when you reg. the domain, look for the small print. Youll find out that lycos owns the domain.
Contact lycos at the telephpne or e-mail adress, asking for explanations, solutions, explaining your situation. Tell them that you work as a web-designer and from now on you would look for another place to register your domains, if they are not willing to cooperate.

well, I called Bluehost, and they looked up the domain. It appeared to be active, so they are going to try and transfer the domain to my account (yes!).
I really hope it works, because if it doesnt, /me will have unhappy clients…
