Please recommend rigging tutorials

It doesn’t matter if the rigging course isn’t free. I need a tutorial on how to rig a human character. I’ve already made at least a basic beginner rig before, so it would be even better if it’s more advanced. I can’t do anything because I haven’t been able to solve this problem. help…
And if there are any types of courses I should avoid, please let me know as well.
And this is a different question, but I’m also curious about what differences there are between Rigify and regular rigging.

There are a lot of lectures.
Find something that fits your learning level or goals you are planning.

It’s a Rigify lecture.

Rifigy and other auto rig solutions are production tools developed to make the rigging process consistent and easy to set up.

It’s best for a beginner to simply use this tool.

And especially if your focus is animation.

Look for Rigify tutorials. There are many.

It really depends on what your learning and working goals are. If you want to learn rigging as a skill in itself, then you can add new features to your simple rig one by one or keep on making new rigs with better features with lessons learned from earlier versions. But if your main goal is to make animations or characters and you just need better rigs for them, then you might not want to spend too much time working on the rigging process itself. In either case it’s good to know at least basics and maybe some more advanced stuff to be able to troubleshoot when necessary, but rigging will get surprisingly complex if you want to make very advanced rigs from scratch. It might not even be necessary for your needs, but it depends on what your goals are.

For example, I do not know how to make a rig with both forward and inverse kinematics options for limbs. I have never needed forward kinematics with my projects, and 3d is just a hobby for me, so I’ve learned only the skills I need to know. Rigify can be a very good option, especially if you learn it so well that you can make custom rigs with it. Because with rigify you get many advanced features straight out of box, like the possibility to switch between forward and inverse kinematics, tweaking possibilities to make cartoony effects when needed, and a decent face rig. Face rigging was the hardest part for me when I was learning, and many tutorials were about using shape keys for facial expressions. I personally don’t like using shape keys for character animations, because animations made with bones can be reused with other chatacters, without having to model or sculpt each expression for each character separately. But, in the other hand, animating something like mouth with just bones is very very hard.

Here is a playlist for rigging in Blender. It has some a little more advanced features too. But not for face if I remember correctly. And his driver solutions are too complex for beginners. You can get pretty good results without drivers, you can always animate correction bones by hand (or make a pose asset for basic corrections to speed up animating process):

This is the best possible option

This Udemy course contains a section on creating a character mesh and rigging it using rigify. It also shows you how to rig a motorcycle and car. I have followed it before and it is very good. Although only a few of the sections are on rigging, so it might not be what you want.
