Hey guys, I am a noob and not even sure what Bump mapping is but I played around with materials and textures and worked out that if you I set textures to normal chanel it should make surfaces bumpy (I hope I’m right) so when I applied all the textures and stuff in the image preview the object looked beautiful with bumpy texture, but when I rendered it it looked SMOOTH!!! :no:why?! is there an option that I need to turn on or something?
any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Oh almost forgot, here’s a screenshot

In the Editing panel (F9) try setting your sphere object to Smooth. You may also need to increase the Nor value for your bump texture. The preview can sometimes be more extreme than the effect you will see in the actual render.
Sweet…it worked and I didn’t know what did I change… thanks DichotomyMatt - started a new scene and did exactly the same and it worked, nice. I’m going to apply this to clothes and skin now, YAY!!
Sorry for the noobish question by the way…
Behold the magic of Blender. I just love when Problems fix themselves. Don’t worry about the noobish question they happen to all of us now and then.
