I’ve ran into a little problem regarding videos with blender. I would like to know if anyone knows of a .png to video converter.
Each time I render in blender 2.57 and 2.49 a animation to a video format I get corrupt videos from it. I like rendering my animation in a image format (every frame) and assembling them afterwards. However, I can’t seem to find a converter that can take all the .png files and assemble them into a video.
Pretty much every tool can do that, be it payed or free.
Blenders VSE, VirtualDub, Premiere, AfterEffects, Transcode, ffmpeg, Videomach, Windows Movie Maker, DJV…
Although Arexma is right, almost every video trancoding tool made can do this, you probably need a little help deciding which one is right for you.
I can tell you from experience using all sorts of tools that the one you want to use is ffmpeg. Don’t be scared away by its command line nature.
But on a different token, when you have Blender set up right to export video on its own, that’s a lot easier. You should be able to export to xvid/mpeg4 or mpeg2 with just about any installation of blender. It’s a little frustrating at first finding a workflow that works for your system but just keep trying, and when you get something that works for you, write down your steps so next time you don’t have to worry about details and you can just be creative.
I just import all .png files to the VSE, change a couple of encoding options, hit ctrl+f12, and that’s it.
Optionally, I’ll put the .png sequence into the node editor and do fun compositing stuff.
