PocketPC

I remember a year or so ago seeing an ad on the blender main page for Blender being usable on the PocketPC’s. I’ve been able to find no mention of it lately, though. Is the program still out there somewhere?

I’m not sure if the link still works, since it’s on the Old Blender site, but you can try it at http://oldsite.blender3d.org/showitem.php?id=245

Drat it! Just tested the link, and of course it doesn’t work…
But you might find it on this page … http://www.pablosbrain.com/blender3d/files/

Sadly, as i recall, the Palm PC version was not able to be released after we free’d the sources. I believe that this was because it was licenced by someone else? Not sure, but if that’s the case, and now that we have the sources, we should possible make a new version.

Although, i’ve never really seen the partical side of having such a program on your Palm PC… but that’s just me

it should also be noted that blender 2.2x will probably not be ported to the pocketpc architecuture. I think it was because it doesn’t have a floating point unit (I believe it is emulated), and because 2.10 lends itself better to translation.

(look on blender.org for specifics)

why on the pocket pc?
because it’s COOL

actually some tabletpc owners say that having autocad on it proves quite useful because they can show their clients their proposal(s) in a user-friendly manner.

are you sure that was actually a windows CE port or was the handheld running a stripped down version of Linux?

i think it was on the i paq or something

I thought it was for Windows CE, but I could be wrong, it was awhile ago. I’ve been experimenting with tinyGL (it exports VRML’s) to do modeling on the Handspring. Kind of tricky but may prove to be a useful tool.

Windows CE on compaq ipaq

(a friend of mine says the [now old] zaurus runs opengl through java well, interesting…)
