I look forward to working with you!
Nopinky, with your vast array of skills we are going to be fighting over you. Do not, I repeat DO NOT! put your latest Anime Animation in a Demo reel. I do not want Pixar and Disney stealing you from this volunteer section. LOL both of these were extremely entertaining. Either that or I need to stop spending so much time in these forums.
So I’m at the local community college taking a night class in life drawing, and one of my fellow students wants to be an animator. He’s running around the room trying to recruit people to help him with a really bitchin animation!
“It’s like The Three Stooges meets Snow White!!” he says (this is Los Angeles, after all, people do talk like that.)
“Really?” I reply. “You have permission to use those properties? Didn’t think Disney licensed its characters to third parties.”
“No! No! You don’t understand! It’s a fan animation. An homage! (he stayed awake in his art appreciation class) We don’t need permission!”
“So what are we supposed to do with the finished animation, then?”
“You’ll be in the credits! You can put it in a demo reel! Get an animation job at a big studio!”
“Oh, I see. Unless the big studio happens to be The Mouse, or someone who works with The Mouse. Do you think animation directors are going to be impressed by someone willing to ignore intellectual property rights?”
Well, the guy hadn’t thought it through, so he went off to talk to someone else.
