I’m sick and tired of this string of irrelavent BS posted here, It’s getting just as bad as CubeFan’s rants.
I’ve nothing against censorship, so I’d rather have a seperate Political forum so people can post their non-sense their, so I don’t have to even see the link in the off-topic forum.
Or a better solution, just stop posting it, no one here really wants to see it, read it, or even know it exists.
We hear enough of a groups political agendas on the news, other forums etc. I’m not interested in coming here to see it either.
And don’t tell me that I don’t have to click it, I don’t. But frankly I don’t even want to see “bush at it again”, “US allience” etc.
hum, i think there is space for political discussions as well, in the off-topic board.
i just dont read em … but sometimes there were interessting polit descussions as well

Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that allthough:

believe in the freedom of speech and above all…
really enjoy a good and descent “dog-fight” over political issues…
I think I can agree that people must reduce a bit the rate at which they are shooting at Bush, Bin Laddin, Saddam… etc. for the shake of sanity and peace, around here…
I agree with ditto head. I think that this causes a lot of unneeded tension. I know that you dont HAVE to click it, but why not just do away with it. I would rather not hate you all
Besides, posting a political thread or a religious thread is just begging to get your ass kicked. Why cause all the commotion and piss people off?
It depends, on what you say, how you put it and whether you have logical arguments to support your opinion…
If you just want to be rude and say things like: “Bush sucks” or “Death to all Muslims” or whatever… then you’re going asking for trouble and you definetely deserve it…
But if you know how to handle a descent discussion and keep it civilized, I don’t see any reason why anybody would want your a$$…
I don’t mind ocasional political posts here as such as long as the arguments are supported, quotes are referenced, and sources given when neccesary. Too often we are asked to form a political opinion somthing when we don’t really know what all the facts are.
Besides them just being a waste of bandwidth, there has been some started, namely by al_capone, in ways that are really degrading and disrespectful to many people. We try and maintain a certain level of standards here as to remain a good example of the Blender community and user base. These pointless threads are beyond conversation, there are rhetoric. Al_Caopone’s views, that he posts as if they were facts, make up such a small percent of the views held by most here. However they take up such a large proportion of this forum.
Graffiti is not free speech, and removing it is not censorship.
The problem that we have with al_capones thread though theeth, is that they don’t even start with anything constructive. Usually it’s just a copy and paste, or a badly mispelled version, of some article from an extremely biased source. I have yet to even see a meaningful title that isn’t either mispelled or copy/paste.
Inserting part of an article or headline, then giving your opinion about it is fine. But dropping in obscure pieces from shady sources is totally irrelevant and causes only trouble.
I don’t believe that was ever implied. People have asked for him to do two things: 1) Post more than one badly mis spelled sentance, that includes something relavent to todays world | and 2) Post all replies in one, consistent, contained post, instead of two or three seperate posts.
The latter he hasn’t entirely ceased doing, but to his credit I’ve noticed a difference.
I think the point is, no matter how its stated, it seems to always get out of hand. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I dont think theres a politcal or religious thread that hasnt offended someone. Why not just find a forum specificly for such a purpose? People there actually want to listen to what you have to say. It seems that here, people just get pissed off. To me, these posts just seem to cause a lot of clutter. But thats just my opinion.

What’s the problem? Off-topic means anything not necessarily directly related to blender…political discussions included. I don’t get why everyone is constantly suggestion that new forums be added.
Your logic is flawed because it is idealistic. Want proof? The finished project forum is for 3D blender graphics. Go try and post 3D pornographic images or other vularities as see what happens!
