polygons in blender?

hello
is it possible to model with polygons in Blender?

Yes polygons is the main method of modelling with blender, nurbs is very limited, blender can use 3 and 4 vert polys.

yea i know…
but i want more than 4 vertices!-)
have you heard about scripts doing something like that?

Sorry but Blender does not support n-gons.

hmmmm too bad!

Its not such a big problem, most of the time you want to end up with quads anyway.:RocknRoll:

well i grew up with polygon modeling;-)
i’m using it for fast architectural sketchy modelling
that’s why i was wondering if i can do it with Blender

Blender can model anything you desire to model.

Architectual modeling is possible, while there’s no solid measurement system I think the snapping tools are being improved.

Yeah, I don’t think Ngons are ever actually necessary.

It’s not a feature I really care about anymore.

Edit: But if you really want an open source modelling that supports Ngons (your polygons) then try Wings3d

There’s always F-Gons, which let you combine N (adjacent? planar?) faces into one “fake” polygon for display, so you don’t have to look at the ugly segmentation when you’re done with an area.

i agree i can model anything in blender!
i was just looking for some time-saving solution…
speaking of architecture i was more into designing non-standard shapes rather than producing documentation
