Pool in a Loft

Hi all.
It’s true i barely post any work here as i’m often not confident enough about the quality of it…
But this time i think i achieved a complete project while working on interior lighting with the internal renderer.
So the concept is a loft on the roofs of New-York city (background image).
Enjoy and comment at will

I’m not sure why you’re worried to post, this is amazing!

By the way, is that a fluid sim?

very nice!!
keep it up

That looks great! I love the smoggy exterior, is that an image or wire? The water doesn’t seem to have much spec though. Great job.

I thought it was indigo/lux before I read your comments…
Amazing

Any chance you could post the .blend? I’d love to take a look at your lighting set-up.

Thanks guys for the comments so far

I’ll try to answer the questions by order…

The water is a simple plane with a raytransp/reflect material and 2 bump maps for fx. No fluidsim here. Same material for the 2 fountain statues.

The exterior is a large HD image of NY i’ve found on the web mapped in shadeless mode on a half cylinder. The cylinder is adjusted to the camera view.

The goal of my lighting researches was to get the best out of the internal renderer and come as close as possible to an Indigo/Luxrender result.

The light set-up is pretty simple, one sun, one area, one hemi and raytraced adaptive AO. If anyone can read french, i’ve written a kind of lighting guide on a french blender site. I can provide the link if asked.

As for the .blend file, i’m sorry but i do not wish to give it right now. Though, i can show you a screenshot of the scene…
