Gotta love those innovative Chinese :rolleyes:… I love it how they portray it as a human’s rights issue. Since it’s so much more humane to kill a person with poison rather than shooting them for having non-government sanctioned beliefs. The CPC (or I forget… is it the CCP?) are so nice… Maybe they can put padding on the tank tracks before they run people over, too.

The most humane way to kill a person, would be to put them in a chamber where a gas simply puts a person to sleep before he dies. No injection, no pain, no issues on it being too cruel. The captive would just feel tired, close his eyes, and go wherever for eternity.
Except for some issues we have with our gas chambers designed for that very purpose. You see, what happens with ours’ is that the poison to paralyze the person’s muscules works, but the anaesthasia doesn’t. So what happens is that they are laying there, fully aware as they are slowly asphexiating (sp?) and they can’t yell for help or even indicate that they are aware. A really horrifying way to go.

At least it’s still more humane then the electric chair, the guinatine, firing squad, torture devices, hanging, and the ways they used back in ancient times. They had a show on Death devices on Modern Marvels that the first time the electric chair was used, they had to shock the person several times and after it was done his body was in smoke and was crispy fried.

The problem with firing squad is that, not only is being shot presumedly painful (luckily, I’ve never been shot), but you can also live. There have been people who have lived even after being shot in the head. As far as I know no one has ever survived lethal injection.

So the person is completely unconsious. The only “pain” would be that intial injection of sodium thiopental. Could that really be any more painful that the injections we all get?

Well, that certainly sounds right doesn’t it? Lots of things sound right, that’s why people talk so much. Call me old fashioned but I believe it’s even more humane to keep the gene pool rapist-free, in regarding the society and the civilization and the advancement of the species above the individual, above you advocating rights for rapists and murderers. I understand the logic though, why should those convicted murdererous theiving rapists be executed simply for not having government sanctioned beliefs? Nothing makes sense anymore…

No, that’s not my logic. Their “beliefs” are dangerous to society in addition to not being legal. I just don’t believe in government sponsored killing. It’s so weird when you think about it. Our government respects human lives enough to punish a man for killing an assailant, yet it does the same. To me, execution is murder and with modern prisons it’s a brutal antiquity. And last, it’s a shame to our country. We dole out a massive number of executions and are one of the last countries to do so. And the other countries that still keep the practice aren’t good company.
