Portal 2 Mod in Search of 3D Hardsurface Weapon Modeler [Portal: System Failure]

Hi there, my name is Kris, I’m the lead developer of a mod for Portal 2 called Portal: System Failure. If you’d like, you can check out our Steam Page to get more information on the project:

At the moment, we are in search of someone to join our team as a 3D Hardsurface Weapon Modeler, in order to create a custom portal gun for the project.

I’m going to be transparent here and let you know that this is in fact an unpaid position as most of us are just hobbyists working on this project in our free time and do not have the money to spend towards it. However, you will not need to adhere to any deadlines and you can work completely in your own time.

If you have the skillset to rig and animate the model, you may also be asked to rig it up to the default Portal 2 gun’s skeleton, but that is not required for the job necessarily. The only thing you will need to do for sure is to make an optimized mesh that is retopologized and UV unwrapped for use in-game. Texturing the model yourself in a program such as substance painter would also be preferred, but worst case scenario we have people on our team already who can do a passable job for that.

UPDATE: Our current modeler has left the team, so we are once again in search of a hard surface modeler for the team.
