I was wondering what it would be like if the modifiers were used in a similar way to the material system. Like, a modifier could have multiple users, and you could still assign it, but only to whole objects, not individual faces. I know that the blender developers are very busy right now (they always are), but it’s just a suggestion. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?
So, you would want the modifier to work with a named group? Nice idea. I think the problem would be in restricting what kinds of object are in the group so that users wouldn’t cheat the system trying to apply poly modifications to curve surfaces or armatures.
Yeah, you’re right… it could be done, but I think the developers have better things to do (at least, I assume so)
