Hehe. I think he means:
“Crap compared to my other work”. And believe me, @ndy’s work is about as good as you can get.

eh, @ndy says that about all of his work. I’m sure he knows its stunning.

4 hours rendering, so please look !

Cool,…but just a little bit of overkill,…maybe turn down the depth a bit, so it is less complicated. Also, according to Theeth, if you enter the render command from the Py console, instead of using the render button, it will cut down significantly on the render time.

Modron, nice water!

Thanks, but I hardly did anything. It’s just this crazy new raytracer.

likewise

:o

man, @ndy, that IS crap :stuck_out_tongue: complete garbage. you should be ashamed to contaminate these boards with that filth.

  1. where can i get a checker board texture!!!???
  2. what new bevel feature???

skeletor, just make a grid, and use face select/vertex paint. That’s the easiest way. And no sense in downloading the latest bevel build because Theeth is fixing a bug in it. But, if you have the one from yesterday, just hit W for the bevel option,…just don’t set the recursions past 3. (edit) thanks for the compliments on the water, guys. it’s not hard at all,…especially if you have the free caustics generator ( check other software ) to generate the texture with.

skeletor, if you don’t have a 2d image editor you should really get one. You can make your own textures among many other things. GIMP, for example, is great and it’s free.

This checkerboard took me all but 20 seconds to make. You can have it:

All you need to do is load it in a texture and select repeat and adjust the other texture settings as needed. Hope that helps.

Now for some shiny stuff

Part of the reflection comes from a big plane behind the camera sporting an otherwise cheesy xmas photo of an overdecorated tree :stuck_out_tongue:

This one’s a slightly older model I made that never rendered well because I could never get the envmapping on it to look good. Raytracing has now solved this

OK am I missing something, for the chequer board why not use the tiles texture plugin? :o

I posted a raytraced version of my castle in Works in Progress:
