Povray 3.5 for Win/Mac/Linux is out, no sources yet. Get it here: http://www.povray.org

Just when Ton is trying to re-buid up blender, you have to spam this.
Talk about hitting below the belt!

Whats wrong with posting a raytracer program? I seem to remember seeing an export script for it (from Blender) some where here. Mac OS X version! No more shuffling around with LightFlow on Linux.

Relax DAK, young blenderhead! 8)

This was no spam and it wasn’t anti-blender. You can’t compare blender (modeller, sequence-editor, uv-mapper, scanlinerenderer…) with Povray (“only” a Renderengine). They aren’t competitors. There are a lot blenderusers who want (need?) raytracing and Povray is one possibility to get raytracing if you use blender and the excellent(!!) Povanim-script by jms.
In fact, there are some things in Povray that can’t be done with blender (yet?), e.g. Photons :o

I got it the day it came out… (tuesday). Lovely renderer… easy coding, not that I actually need it. Blender exports to it via the povanim script or Jan Walter’s povray script.

Hi,
I don’t know this script of mac world but there is:

http://jmsoler.free.fr/util/blenderfile/povanim.htm

Designed to work with blender alone (I mean without full python implementation just the python.dll) it is not compatible with OS X,
but it can be used on unix system.
