Whoever heard of a 14 yr old paying bills and having kids?
I am not sure what your question is…
but if you mean electricty…well…I have lived by myself since age of 21…and now I am 35 …all alone…
yeah i am talking about electricity.
its in relation to a project i am doing with the power company (university project) and i am needing some reflection on ideas and concepts for an advanced billing/ power monitoring system.
i am interested in parents a lot, because many of the features i have in place are aimed at parents
oh and people in Flatting situations would be nice too

Happily married father of two, homeowner, electric heating (heat pump / electric furnace).
Ask away!
Paying (my part, at least) of the electricity in my apartment.

sniff… that is so sad :(. Although, being alone still sounds better than living with your parents.
My brother lives in flats and it works the same as in my parents house. There is an electricity meter that clocks how much you use and a man comes to check it every so often. Then you get billed, which you can pay online, by phone or by post.
I’m not sure how you would make the system better. If it was automated then you would have to make sure that there was a stable communication line to each and every home. I think there would still have to be a usage display too. Sometimes we’re not sure if we are wasting electricity so we can say turn on the clothes dryer and find out that the meter flies round so we stop using it.
Concerning the communications, this might be of interest:

You could relay the info along the power cable. As with everything, the more things you add to a system, the more things can go wrong. You might get someone patching into the supply and sending a phoney signal.
I picked the last one, but technically, you wouldn’t call me a kid anymore, i’m a teenager.
Why not just post the question? Was a pre-evaluation really necessary?
Tell it to the birds.
Until you’re about 30, you’re still a kid.

And even then, it’s debatable for some folks (and, no, I don’t mean that in a pejorative sense).
That’s a generalized fallacy. But in many (most?) cases, I think you’re right.
You’d be surprised…
i was using my feelers, i need to write the questions still.

Since some people are married by then you could say a lot of KIDS get married. That doesn’t really sound right. And you’re techically an adult by the time you’re 21
According to my dictionary a kid is “A young person of either sex (between birth and puberty).” According to popular definition a kid is a person who has not fully stabilized yet, or someone much younger than you.
i find that you become an adult when your out of public school and have chosen what you are going to do for the rest of your life, however most people don’t do the later till they are around 28. However in my case i’ve already gotten a contract for a job that pays good, and is in high demand. thats right its a military job, SECF (Submarine electronics-computer field) and i’m just about to graduate from high school.
I think he was talking about you, not people in General. Anyway, I was ‘technically’ an adult at 18.
btw Fligh%, I think ‘Flatting’ means living in a Flat, or something.
Of course… digs. I should have worked that one out.

Yeah they keep sending me junk mail about that because I scored >=92% (of test takers) on the ASVAB back in high school, and it’s in high demand because there’s a freaking war on and no one wants to do it.
I find that you become an adult when you are self-dependant and responsible. That comes way past 30 for some people. The military forces you into it, which can be good for people who can’t do it on their own.
