Power Chamber (WC Entry)

This is for the “Bonk Machine” WC. I finished modeling the machine itself, but if I am to get some votes, I need to do much more with this. So, any critics?

umm…

hmm…

I think it would help if i knew what it was.

um… a little early, and the modeling is only a so-so, but it could turn out very nice!

You should use the auto-smooth button.
You should have a floor
You should use only spotlights to get shadows

This might increase the votes you get.

I haven’t written up a description yet, but I believe this update might give you a better idea of what it does.

Thanks! You’re gonna participate too, right?

I had never used the Auto-smooth in my life. Thanks for letting me see such a useful feature! About the spots, I put lighting at the very end.

In this update, I’ve just finished modeling the main machine, and textured most of it. All that’s left now is the random crap thrown for detail, and the lightning.

cool I like the weird textures!! nicely surreal!

I really still wonder what a power chamber does though???

Looks cool. I like the person behind the glass.

looks like something i would do… youve got your work cut out if you want it to look much better…

Well, if I’m gonna make something without Toon Shading, I might as well go weird.
Once I’m sure this is finished, I’ll post the Finished Project with a description.

He’s Turkey, my pet character. I used him for the music WC, too, but he was the main part in that one. He’s here only for effect.

I read your post many times, and I still don’t know if that’s a compliment…

I put some decent lighting, moved the camera, emptied a container, and changed Turkey’s position.
By the way, did I manage to make him look like he’s a little nervous?

you need to add a big sign at the top “cook-o-matic” or something stupid like that… it is hard to tell what it is :-?

Okay, now it’s starting to make sense:
The guy in the chamber does not want to be there.

The textures on the chamber itself don’t look too good, a bit gaudy, they obscure the shape of the chamber.

The empty container needs to be more visible, and the full container should be more visibly connected (if it’s supposed to be connected, that is.)

The textures overall make it difficult to see the shape of a lot of the objects.

That’s all the crits I can think of, it’s a good idea you’ve got.

Well, I finished it…It’s not “complete” per se, but I don’t plan on changing anything before the WC…

Alex- I moved the connected container to a place where it’s easier to see, and changed a couple of textures. In the end, I had to subsurf the chamber, because I couldn’t manage to capture it’s normal shape.
