Powua + blender + dual Xeon... Nice

Just thought i’d post this here.

Powua is something i’ve just stumbled upon, it’s basically giving you access to a super computing platform.

You can read about it on the website, but basicaly here is a screenshot of me running a version of linux over the internet on a dual core Xeon 2.6GHz machine with 8GB of RAM and 4GB of my own storage space.

I’m running blender on the machine, but controlling it through the virtual window (Or what ever it is called). In the screen shot i’m rendering a 4K image.

Nice

When you sign up for the beta testing you get 25 credits, which totals 25 hours on the platform, it’s a little awkard to use at first, but after you get the hang of it it’s quite nice, it comes with a java cross platform controll application and uploader/ downloader etc.

you have to reserve time on the servers before hand, until your time comes up you won’t be able to access the virtual machine.

EDIT: If you have enough credits (It does get pricey) you can have upto 512 cores etc.
It really is giving you access to a super computing platform!
