We at Sun Microsystems are helping to sponsor an Open Source Game Development track at the Austin Game Developers Conference in Austin Texas on September 15th, 2008. This track is dedicated to helping independent game developers/publishers understand how to leverage Open Source technologies to build their next gen games/companies and the value of joining open source communities.
If there are any Blender experts in the Austin, TX area that are available to speak at this conference, we would love to talk to you.
Please send any inquiries to me at chris (dot) melissinos (at) sun (dot) com.
I’ve sent an e-mail saying as much to Chris, but wanted to reply here too. I’m an Austin, TX based blender user and educator and would be interested in making connections with any other folks in the area interested in blender for game development and animation. It’d be nice to network locally with Blender’s growing community of users.
Thanks for the replies! Unfortunately, we don’t have budget for outside travel for the show, but speakers will be given a full conference pass for the AGC, which is an awesome tech conference. On, I will send you an e-mail back so we can talk today
I would pay for my own travel, room, food and board. I could teach how to do all of the logic brick methods of AI I have developed. I also know all the material system tricks for the GE, and a few other things that are not so obvious.
