Preview render turns black

Does anyone have the same issue as this one? Do you have any solution to this?

Your OS needs an update (as the icon on your tray shows).

For Blender, you should always update your graphics card driver, whenever you download a new version.
Also, you should check if your graphics card is supported, before upgrading Blender; and reading the release notes is crucial.

Thanks. I’ll try to update my software.

If you are an NVIDIA user, cleanly delete your existing GPU driver and NVIDIA control panel.
And try installing the latest driver studio version.

I’m working well so far without any problems. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m using AMD Radeon R9 290 for my graphics. I’ve already installed the latest driver but the bug still exists.

What does it look like in Render view, instead of Material?

(Looks like you also have a light that is too dim to light the scene as you have it.)

I don’t know the exact cause, so I don’t know what method there is.
Rendering with CPU, then switching to EEVEE.

Use simple cubes for the scene.

When I came out in black, it didn’t improve immediately after reinstalling the graphics driver, and the black screen disappeared during the test.

I think it’s because there are existing data left as an estimate.

※ If you still have the same problem, please attach the file.
You can test to see if the same problem occurs.

I tried testing the same material preview in my laptop that runs with nvidia GeForce GTX and it works fine. I don’t understand why Blender is having issues on my desktop that runs with Radeon R9 200 series.

I don’t know either, I don’t use AMD hardware. But with anything like this, first step is to see if what you have is compatible with the version of blender you’re using.

Thanks. I’ll try to do more research into this bug. A technical challenge to solve.
