Interesting concept. I like the glow of the water sphere, but something about the wood texture doesn’t sit quite right. Might be the speckles in the grain.

this is really cool. its like some how the wood can contain the water in mid air. also change the name. call it something like…contained glowing energy.

Thanks for the comments.

dreamsgate: I don’t like the wood either. I used procedurals to make it and at first it looked fine, but now I think I’ll change it again.

JediJapan: Thanks. I changed the name of it to a primitive AMD, or antimatter device.

I know this is a bit “Real world” but how about a rubber of some sort. On the blender3d.org homepage There is a car materials download. It has some great materials that I have used. Im not too convinced by these procedural textures, I can understand the 3D concept that they go through the block, but they all seem to look a bit plastic for some reason.

rubber? how do you mean? do you mean make the mat. of the wood block to be more of a rubber than wood? thats not a bad idea. Im actually glad no one suggested that I make it metallic… theres too many futuristic metallic looking things on this forum anyway… lol. Its all good.
